HI-USA, Michigan bike rides take place from April to October, weather permitting. Speeds normally range from 12 to 20 mph and distances from 20 to 50 miles, partly depending on time of the riding season. Leaders may modify ride speeds and lengths to fit conditions.
We require approved helmets at all times, and head and taillights whenever any part of the ride is in dark or twilight. Riders must heed ride leaders, observe the law and practice road safety and courtesy. We also will discuss safety and group riding etiquette before each ride.
Bikes must be in safe riding condition, and bikes and riders ready to roll at the listed meeting time. It is impolite to keep the rest of the group waiting.
All rides have a $1 fee for members, $2 for nonmembers. For changes or more information, please contact Ride Leaders listed below.
Bike rides are graded to indicate their level of difficulty, based on average overall speeds:
At present we only offer B-level rides. Although we start the season at lower speeds, they will not be beginners' rides; please be prepared.
The biking group will return in Spring 2008.
