Hiking
Below you will find the guidelines for hiking with HI-USA, Michigan. Please see the calendar for dates, times, and locations of hikes.
General Information
- It is against HI-USA policy to bring pets on hikes.
- Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your own water and snacks.
- All hikes have a $1.00 fee for members, $2.00 for non-members plus carpool fee and park entrance admissions.
- Optional dinner stop after all hikes unless otherwise indicated in description.
Hiking Levels
Ratings ensure safety and enjoyment. Please plan according to individual ability.
- Level 1: Leisurely walk, variable length.
- Level 2: 5 miles, easy terrain and pace
- Level 3: 5 miles, moderate hills and pace
- Level 4: 5 miles, hilly terrain, fast pace
- Level 5: 5+ miles, rugged terrain, brisk pace
- Level 6: Unusual length and terrain
